Because we ourselves are fans, it is critical for us to build a community of fans that support, guide, and share in the joy of what this franchise means to all of us. That’s why we’ve set up various social media properties and also a Reddit forum for all of you to join in the discussions with us and with each other.
Our Anakin Skywalker and our Zorii Bliss rolling through another dynamic duo!
Season 1 starts amazing but sort of winds down in the middle only to pick up again by the end, but Season 2…. mannn. Season 2 blew us away and we’re excited to see how the story develops after the tragic events of last season. It’s safe to say that the animated shows do not disappoint, so even if you’ve been one of those “cartoon holdouts”, we could not recommend The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch more! Some of the best Star Wars out of Disney Lucasfilm. We will be watching! Will you?

Overall, “Ahsoka” was a good show but not great. We give it a 6.5/10 as a series which puts it above average and that’s probably largely due to Anakin Skywalker and Baylan Skoll. What powerhouse performances these two gave us!!! Just wow! #HaydenChristensen #RayStevenson should be nominated for Emmy’s in our opinion! #RIPRay 💔 But the show just did not have the gravitas or conflict that we saw in shows like ANDOR. And certainly that’s because ANDOR was grounded in the events that took place in Rogue One that leads us into the brilliance that was the original trilogy! Of course it would have weight. It’s the entire reason we even have Star Wars in the first place! For the most part, the show felt a bit flat. Like we spent 8 episodes ramping up for what was to come but never got there. We think Grand Admiral Thrawn should have come back to the galaxy by episode 5 or 6 and we should have seen why he is a threat. We simply were not shown that. Now those of you (like us) that have seen Rebels and/or have read the books might be more clued into why Thrawn is a threat — even though in the books he was more of anti-hero than a villain. But if a show is going to appeal to new fans of this franchise then it needs to make all of us feel it. It just never did that. We would argue that even knowing the character, it didn’t feel like he was much of a threat. We think that because of the exceptional storytelling of Timothy Zahn in the original “Heir to the Empire” (HTTE) and Disney Lucasfilm now wanting to play in that timeline, they’re going to find a lot of fans will not accept a different version of what they already know to be true. We wish they would stop dumbing down these already exceptional characters! During this timeline in our galaxy, Luke Skywalker — and his band of rebels (former rebels) — is very predominately connected to many events that are happening. Luke is out there collecting knowledge and working with Leia, Han, Lando, the New Republic etc. as we see in HTTE! A tie into the larger story would be to include these characters even if sporadically in these shows. And build up to the larger threat that eventually becomes the First Order. Hate to break it to you but Thrawn isn’t the big threat out there — Snoke is. For everything to make sense, these two titans MUST eventually go toe to toe. And we think the shadow council that we saw in “The Mandalorian” S3 is a big part of that. And “Ahsoka” did nothing to set that up. It is disjointed from the bigger story. We do believe it would be cool (very cool) to build up Thrawn to take on Snoke and have the upcoming movie be Thrawn vs Snoke for the seat of power. That’d be an epic movie. Sorry, sequel haters, but it’s never gonna just go away. So let’s work with it and make it better. If you remove Ahsoka herself from the plot — everything still moves in the same direction. That’s just not good storytelling or character development. Sure, removing her wouldn’t have given us Anakin flashbacks, yeah — but would they have even be needed? Was Anakin even needed except for nostalgia? The answer is no, sadly. And many of us on our team are HUGE Anakin / Vader simps! So while we squeeeeed for the amazing Hayden Christensen appearing on our screens and doing his thing absolutely perfectly and brilliantly, it did nothing really for the story. If they would have presented a broken down Ahsoka, say for example Shin kills Sabine in front of her (aka Qui-Gon/Maul style), like showed us why she was that way and then built her back up with Anakin’s help that might have been a far better story. Seems like DLF is just afraid to “kill their darlings”. That’s a hurdle that makes it difficult to connect with the story. If everyone of the main characters is always winning and there are no stakes — it’s just boring after a while. When you show us something different in a character that we know and love and recognize to be an entirely different way, it’s off-putting and jarring. Sabine Wren was never a Jedi, she’s a Mandalorian, never been force-sensitive, and that whole storyline took most of us right out of it. It was worse than — dare I say it — Rey. At least Rey could be explained in the siphoning of Ben Solo’s training — who had 13 years of training as a Jedi under Luke and 7 years of training under Snoke — during the Mind Probe sessions that she clearly was able to then use against him. The instant flyjock piloting of the Falcon just isn’t ever going to be explained properly to anyone. But for Sabine to go from not using the Force at all, to calling a lightsaber to her, to then Force Pushing Ezra across a huge chasm in the span of 15 minutes — just not believable. At all! What did you like and what did you not like about the show?!? Leave us your comments below and PLEASE be respectful of everyone’s opinions and takes! Keep it about the story! And do give us more than “it sucks” or “it’s awesome”. We want the details! Thanks for reading and participating! MTFBWY!
